Day 1:
14:00 Arrive at the ‘Saltings’ Mocketts Farm Cottages.
The Saltings is the larger of the four cottages offering 6 twin rooms which are all en-suite, with large open plan living areas. (Please refer to the accommodation page for further details)
15:00 Head out on to marshes for the evening duck flight.
Please note: We try to put someone local, with a dog, with each gun. Obviously to pick up as you shoot and also if you are not experienced in shooting wild duck this man's knowledge and identification skills can be invaluable and also can add to your enjoyment. It is custom to tip your 'Picking up man'.
19:00 Return to the ‘Saltings’ Mocketts Farm Cottages.
19:30 Go to the Ferry House Inn for a Two course meal, choosing from the ‘Specials board' in the bar area. Guns to purchase their drinks from the bar.
Day 2:
07:45 Go to Ferry House Inn for Breakfast
08:45 Depart Ferry House Inn and head off to Shoot
09:00 Arrive at shoot room for meet and greet – (bag estimate 200 partridge / wildfowl)
11:00 Elevenses: Hot soup and chipolata sausages, Slogasms (sloe gin and fizz)
12:30 Lunch: Our modern gun bus is equipped with cooking facilities, allowing us to prepare and cook some of the mornings game, which is pan fried and served in tortilla wraps, along with salads and condiments. Weather allowing we dine alfresco taking in the scenic views. Wine and beers are served, and is rounded off with some local cheese, and home made bread and pickles.
3:30 Finish shooting and depart heading back to Mocketts Cottages. Please note, unless you are staying for another's days shooting, it is customary to tip the Keeper before you depart.
4:30 Go to the Ferry House Inn for Three course Restaurant Meal:
Starters from the a’ la carte menu,
Main course: Carve your own ‘Old rides Farm Rib of Beef’ served with all the trimmings
Dessert from the a’ la carte menu
Tea and Coffee
Meal also includes 5 bottles of house wine, or pay the difference and choose from the Inn’s extensive wine list
Retire to Mocketts Cottages
Day 3: Depart Cottages by 10:00
OR: Add another day’s shooting and stay another night at the cottages (the accommodation would be gratis for the 3rd night)
Price £9218 + VAT + tips (based on 10 guns)
